Trading places(1983)

 About movie:

. The movie "trading places"  is a comedy movie where the story begins with a managing director (Louis Winthrop) of a brokerage firm named Duke&Duke owned by the two brothers Randolph duke and Mortimer. These two brothers bet each other with one dollar that the environment affects the lifestyle of an individual. On the other hand, Winthrop has arrested a street hustler (belly ray valentine) with the help of cops and falsely accused that he tried to steal his bag. Mortimer and Randolph decide to make a bet as to see what happens if Winthrop loses his job, his home, and is shunned by everyone, and what if we change valentine's lifestyle by making him a managing director. The two brothers defamed Winthrop with the help of clarence beeks for stealing money and got him arrested. On the other side, valentine has taken a new position as a managing director. Ophelia acts like a prostitute in a movie, She shows sympathy with Winthrop and allows him to live in her place. When valentine comes to know that these brothers ruined Winthrop's life just for a one-dollar bet, He approaches Ophelia's apartment and tries to describe a whole story

 valentine: It was the dukes!   It was the dukes! They used us and made a bet. 

 Then valentine tells him that how they ramshackle Winthrop's life just for a bet.

 Winthrop replied

Winthrop: The dukes ruined my life over a bet for how much?

valentine: one dollar:

Then Winthrop makes a plan with valentine and Ophelia to bankrupt these two brothers in a stock market.

clarence beeks, who act as a villain in this movie. He is the one who exposed Winthrop as a thief and put him in the station house.  clarence is an inside trade of Duke&Duke and gives secretly a report to Randolph and Mortimer about orange crops forecasting.

The two brothers have prepared to control the frozen orange juice market and want to buy all the share of it. 

Winthrop and valentine created a fake report:

In the end, Winthrop and valentine create a fake report and transfer it to Randolph and Mortimer. The fake report says that the prices of orange crops will rise but the actual report says that the prices of orange crops will fall.

Bought high and major announcement:

The Duke Brothers have told their trader to buy the orange juice shares no matter how much higher the prices will it be.

So the trader starts buying the shares in the market at a high price. The Duke Brothers thought that they were a big bull in the market but the things goes reverse in this time.

A few minutes later, every individual in a trading place goes quietly. And the secretary of agriculture read the orange crops reports and he tells that the crops are strong and the price will befall.  

Buy low sell high Vs  buy high sell low:

After the announcement, the price of orange juice starts falling.  For all those who were buying orange juice at a high price suddenly need to sell.  When the price of orange juice goes down below 29 cents, valentine and Winthrop starts buying orange juice shares. They sold it for a higher price. The duke brothers sold low and bought high as a result they lost millions of dollars in trading and got bankrupt. At last they were oppressed and the stock market head sold their assets to recover the losses.

 This movie teaches me one thing that is team works leads to success. You can never achieve success without your team. At one moment I was very happy to see that valentine and Winthrop started working together, making plans to get revenge on Duke Brothers.
