Brooklyn nine-nine is a show that I resorted to give myself a break from the grind of everyday. A feel-good, comedy show. However, it turned out to be so much more.

A cop show showing the detectives of NYPD in their raw human form yet being the best detectives. The 99th precinct is newly alloted with a new Captain - Raymond Holt.  An African male who is very robot-like and apparently emotionless however, as it turns out he's full of emotions and assumes a father-figure in his detectives life. Raymond Holt is homosexual and had faced adversaries in his career. His dog Cheddar also plays a significant role in the series.

Jake Peralta, the lead actor is a leading detective who has yet to grow the mindset of a child. His favourite movie is Die Hard and he lives in the hopes of having 'movie action sequences' in his life. His careless tread in life really makes you want to be happy-go-lucky.

Amy Santiago, another detective in the NYPD is a big time nerd. She likes to learn and give tests. She's a perfectionist and a teacher's pet.  She has a need to keep her life very organized. So when Raymond Holt arrives at the precinct she's intent on making him her mentor and for that she'll go to extents of pleasing.

Terrence Jeffords is the Seargeant of the precinct who is super obsessed with keeping fit. He works out alot and has an amazing bod. He recently has had twins and struggles with keeping his babies and his work babies in line.

Rosa Diaz is a stone cold person who everyone fears. She shows absolutely no emotions or reactions, hates any sort of intimacy and carries weapons, particularly an axe - always ready to kill. She's an amazing detective and has been with Jake since the Academy.

Charles Boyle is another detective who is soft inside and out. He'll cry over anything, considers Jake his bestfriend and would agree with him no matter what. He struggles in his love life.

Hitchcock and Scully are two detectives, probably in their 50s who never promoted from their detectives and stuck to desk jobs because that way they could sit all day long. They were bestfriend and their friendship was unique, in its own way - unlike any other you might have seen. They love eating and being lazy together.

Gina Linetti is Captain's assistant. She's classy, sassy and full of herself. She's the amalgamation of self-obsession and realism. She's weird and crazy and loves to intimidate people but she still manages to throw around life changing advices for everyone. Her obsession with herself and the social trends are relatable for many teenagers.

This is a very short description of each character but what they bring to the show is so much more elaborate and fun to watch. When such different personalities exist and work together, unimaginable chaos will reveal itself that only THE NINE NINE can handle. There will be fits of laughter, feel good moments, heart touching bits and scenes that will leave an impact. You will grow as the characters grow in so many ways. This show will take your mind off of things and will help you relax. It's a must watch show that you won't get over anytime soon.
